This imaginative children’s menu cover came from the RMS Ivernia, a Cunard-owned ocean liner that operated between the United Kingdom and Canada. It shows a sailor astride a friendly whale while two little fish dance around on the air expelled by the mammal’s blowhole.
Many British families sailed on this ship as a prelude to new lives in Canada so there would have been many children on board and this 1955 menu was for a children’s tea party.
